What is New Rain?
We are a community of mystics who practice and realize three modes of awakening. Something exciting becomes possible in our meeting.New Rain is an activity of the Hurkalya Sufi Center. It was launched in January 2014 at the beautiful Santa Sabina retreat center, in San Rafael, CA. It was an inspiring, fun, experimental and sacred gathering.
Transcendent Consciousness through Meditation
We learn to liberate awareness from content, sensations, thoughts, feelings – to discover Primordial Awareness, the ever-present ground of Being, the Divine Self beyond form.
Opening and Expanding the Heart
In consenting to make our heart a vessel for the incarnation of Love, we participate in Divinity unfolding and evolving in form. As love dissolves separation we realize our oneness with all Life. For this, we pray, recite Zikr and practice sacred relating in dyads and triads.
Building the Universel: The Temple of Harmony
In this we participate in building heaven on earth. We learn to perceive the inter-relational space between us that both includes and transcends our personal self, through deep listening and speaking.
